History

Our city was established in 1900 as a trading post near where the railway bridge would later be built. At that time, it hosted a population of 2000 people. During the Second World War, numerous industrial facilities and power stations were built. Many prominent scientists and engineers were evacuated to the city from other regions. By the end of the war in 1945, rapid industrial growth and an influx of refugees had made it the second largest city in the country. By the year 2012, the city hosted a population of two million people.
